The Palmetto House to host kickoff plans, financial progress report

For Clay Today GREEN COVE SPRINGS – The Palmetto Community Development Corporation invites the public to its first kickoff to hear about the plans and financial progress for The Palmetto House project, meet businesses involved, and receive an update on its upcoming activities from the PCDC Board and friends. It will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 11:30 a.m. at 549 N. Palmetto Ave.

“We remain steadfast in our effort to complete this journey and invite the community to support us for the most meaningful impact,” said Honorary Fundraiser Chair Constance “Connie” Butler, a decade-long public servant who is no stranger to Clay County. Individuals and organizations interested in supporting the mission or attending future events are invited to visit the organization’s website for more information at palmettocdc.org.

The mission of Palmetto Community Development Corporation, Inc. is to promote the economic, educational, health, and social well-being of families and at-risk youth in Green Cove Springs by fostering charitable initiatives in financial literacy, health, and education that strengthen and empower the community.

The Palmetto CDC aims to improve lives in the city and county by collaborating with other charitable and educational organizations to benefit its constituents. It also publishes a nonprofit magazine about Clay County’s broad and rich history. Proceeds will primarily be used to renovate an old, dilapidated building that will eventually serve as a hub for educational and financial literacy programs, mental health support to enhance the well-being of at-risk youths and families, economic development, historical research and community service activities.
